Workers of St Elizabeth, are now the only ones in Sicily not have a contract and currently receive the sum of only € 6.25 per day per hour and are in a situation of extreme economic hardship, even given that their average age is 40 years and most of them are married with children.
The negative attitude of the Mayor and Board of the majority, offends the dignity of these workers, even in view of the election promises that they assumed their stabilization by 2007, even if, as expressed in speeches, the Mayor, to use their allowances and that of his Councillors, but so far, perhaps because of poor memory, the allowance was only used for the payment of their salary.
It is "an unacceptable attitude" and will be put in place all necessary steps to protect the interests of these workers, who for nearly twenty years, waiting for a stable job that gives financial security to their families.
ask the Mayor Militello and that his Government to intervene with any urgency to rectify an untenable situation and take all initiatives that aim for final stabilization of temporary workers and initiate any administrative jurisdiction, as provided by the regional government for the activation of a process of overcoming the precarious employment.
